4 Beauty Hacks You Need To Start Now!

I am a sucker for a good beauty hack! Beauty is my job so when I can learn and incorporate new beauty hacks into my routine I feel like I’m evolving in my knowledge which makes me love my job even more! Cheesy, I know lol Here are some hacks I have recently implemented into my routine and think you’ll also love them.

Double Cleansing

When I first heard about double cleansing I thought it sounded gimmicky and like an extra unnecessary step, but I was so wrong!  If you follow me on Instagram then you may remember a poll that I did asking if you double cleanse and if it’s necessary. Well, after much research I have learned that it’s an essential step  in protecting your skins barrier. Doubling cleansing is exactly what it sounds like, cleansing twice. Your first cleanser should be an oil or a cleansing balm ( applied to dry skin) as this first step is to clean the dirt, oil and remove your makeup. The second cleanser is to treat whatever issue or concern that you have. Crazy, right? I will go further into depth in a later post.

Stop Washing Your Face

Well, kind of lol. If you’re someone who doesn’t workout in the morning or doesn’t sweat over night then there is no need to wash your face in the morning as it should already be clean from the night before. Using a toner or miceller water should suffice. Washing your skin too often will strip your skin of it’s natural oils which can then lead to acne, worsen acne, cause premature aging and more.

Weekly Clarifying Shampoo Treatment

If you have dandruff, flat, lifeless, or dull hair you could just need a good clarifying shampoo treatment. The best part about it (besides the benefits and results) is you can do it yourself and it’s affordable. I started to notice my hair wouldn’t hold a curl and despite how much I babied my hair it just looked blah and unhealthy. After some research I found that I should not only switch to an all natural hair care regimen but also use a clarifying shampoo. If you’re someone who uses a lot of products or regularly uses dry shampoo then your scalp is most likely in need of a clarifying shampoo to cleanse it of built up oil and residue. I use a clarifying shampoo once-twice a week.

Drying Your Hair With  A Microfiber Towel

I know this sounds extra and I totally agree with you but in my defense I have an obsession with carrying for my hair (and my skin) like it’s a newborn baby. There are so many benefits with  little extra work that it just makes sense to do. I mean, you have to dry your hair with a towel anyways so why not just use one that actually benefits your hair. The benefits are less frizz, less breakage, and absorbs more water.

Petroleum Jelly

Sounds crazy, right? I still can’t believe that I am  now obsessed with this trick. Petroleum jelly isn’t going to add moisture to your skin but it is going to lock in the moisture from your moisturizers and hyaluronic acid. Add it at the very end of your night time regimen and thank me later!
